Applications are now available to fill a vacant seat on the Shelton City Council, due to the recent resignation of Deputy Mayor Joe Schmit.

Applicants must be a registered voter in the City of Shelton and have continuously resided within Shelton city limits for a minimum of one year to be eligible to fill the vacancy.

Applications and more information about the appointment process are available on our website at www.sheltonwa.gov/councilvacancy. Applications are due by Friday, May 3 at 1 p.m.

Completed applications can be turned in by email to City Clerk Donna Nault (donna.nault@sheltonwa.gov), by mail to the Civic Center (525 West Cota Street), or dropped off at the Customer Service desk located on the second floor of the Civic Center during normal business hours (Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Closed from 1 - 2 p.m. and Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.). 

Candidate interviews are scheduled to occur on Tuesday, May 14. The selected applicant will be sworn into office at the May 21 Council meeting.
