Historic Preservation

NOTE: The Historic Preservation Board has moved the regularly scheduled monthly meeting to Wednesday, March 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the Civic Center. The meeting will be held in the back meeting room since the Empty Bowls event will be taking place in the main room.

The Shelton Historic Preservation Board oversees City activities related to historic preservation. The Board helps provide incentives to property owners to restore and maintain our many historic buildings and sites, and in the process promotes civic pride, preserves our heritage and identity, and improves the aesthetic and economic vitality of the community.

The Shelton Historic Preservation Board members are appointed by the Mayor and the City Council to three-year terms. The Shelton Historic Preservation Board members meet the second Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Shelton Civic Center located at 525 West Cota St.
