Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

The City collects a 4% tax on lodging within Shelton city limits, which is dedicated to the use of promoting tourism, supporting the operations of tourism-related facilities and activities, and general operations of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists to Shelton.

State law requires that cities with a lodging tax fund establish an advisory committee. Shelton's Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) receives, reviews and recommends funding appropriations for selected activities to the City Council. The LTAC meets biannually.

Tourism Funding Grants
The LTAC accepts applications for tourism funding grants on an annual basis. The applications are usually available to submit in August. Applications are presented to and reviewed by the LTAC. The committee then submits their recommendations to City Council for final approval.
