City Council selected Megan Fiess to fill the vacant position 7 seat, formerly held by Bob Rogers.
Interviews were conducted with each applicant: Dean Jewett, Tonya Strozyk-Frazier, Trenton Powers, Fiess, Marilyn Volger, and George Blush.
Fiess is employed as the Workforce Division Project Manager for the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce. She has previously worked for the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council, Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee, and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
“I’m really excited to learn more about how I can bring value to the Council and our city,” Fiess said in her interview.
Fiess will be sworn into office at the City Council’s next meeting, February 18, at 6:00 p.m. in the Civic Center.
