On April 19, the Shelton City Council passed Resolution 1227-0222, which provides for the submission of a proposition to qualified voters for approval or rejection of a 6-year levy in the amount of 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed value of property, to fund emergency medical services.

The EMS levy, approved by the voters in 2016, expires on December 31, 2022.

The City is looking for an individual who could write an "argument against" statement for inclusion in the local voters pamphlet.

The proposition will appear on the August 2 special election ballot.
