The Community and Economic Development department contains the City's planning and building divisions. The Community and Economic Development department receives and processes all City planning and building permits and applications. This department also contains the City's code enforcement division.
Customer Service is located on the second floor of the Civic Center, located at 525 West Cota Street. They process utility bill payments and answer and route all incoming phone calls to the City's main phone line, 360-426-4491.
The Finance department coordinates business licensing and B&O taxes within Shelton city limits, processes monthly utility bills for customers, prepares the yearly City budget, maintains and updates the City's Master Fee Schedule, and provides accounting and financial reporting for the City.
The City contracts with Central Mason Fire & EMS to provide fire and EMS response for our community.
The Human Resources department coordinates the recruitment and retention of all City employees, manages the City's risk management interests to best protect Shelton's assets, manages the City's labor relations activities, and provides staff support to the Civil Service Commission.
Parks and Recreation
The Parks and Recreation department develops and maintains all City parks and trails, coordinates rentals of the Civic Center and other park shelters/facilities, and provides recreational classes, programs, and opportunities for the community.
The Police department provides excellent service and protection to Shelton through community policing, detectives, patrol, the records/evidence desk, and school resource officers (SROs).
The Public Works department is comprised of the engineering, sewer/wastewater, stormwater, streets, and water divisions. They maintain the City's infrastructure, respond to inclement weather events, and ensure that construction and development projects are built safely.
